Job Opening: Nursery Sales & Support
The Nursery Sales & Support Roles are responsible for the customer service, inventory maintenance, and merchandising of the following departments: Perennials, Roses, Shrubs, Trees, and Vines. They will serve as an integral part of the retail team and will naturally radiate the core values of our organization: Care, Grow, Deliver.
- Seasonal: February to October
- Full-Time, Hourly Position: 40hrs/week, 5 days/week (must be available to work Saturdays)
- Reports to: Nursery Manager

Customer Service
- Puts the customer at the center of absolutely everything they do, acting as an ignitor of customer-centric thinking in their departments.
- In partnership with the Nursery Manager, maintain a customer service program designed to increase sales, nurture customer relations, and set our company apart from all other retailers in the market.
- Respond to customer service issues of the departments when needed.
- Ensure the departments are laid out with the customer experience in mind, and kept clean and presentable at all times.
- Support the Nursery Manager to maintain the merchandising strategy for each department, including overall layout, end caps, signage, etc.
- Communicate with the Nursery Manger and buyers to ensure product mix, inventory levels, pricing, and discounts (sales) are optimized for the customer experience and maximum sales/profitability of the departments.
Team
- Work and communicate as a team to create an atmosphere of teamwork and excellent customer experience to maximize sales and profits.
- Participate in all training activities regarding store procedures, customer service, and product knowledge.
- Maintain safety and security measures for the benefit of customers and the team.
Inventory Management & Receiving
- Assist with maintaining correct POS inventory through timely merchandising, write off procedures, tagging, and cycle counts.
- Report any issues with inventory to the Nursery Manager or the appropriate buyer.Â
- Ensure the product is maintained to the highest quality standards, or moved to clearance/sale as needed (quality control).
- Assist Inventory Manager with cycle counts.
Workflow & Facilities
- Read and respond to all updates on the daily / weekly / monthly priorities needed to smoothly operate departments, including: watering schedule, truck arrivals, merchandising changeovers, plant maintenance, etc.Â
- Understand and maintain all physical assets in these departments, including paths, gravel, tables, hoses, carts, and all peripheral areas.
- Identify and report issues related to the health and safety of our customers and staff and take action to improve any problems.
