A rainy Wednesday spent touring gardens and a farm? You bet. What better way to get over that hump than spending it with like-minded, passionate gardeners gaining inspiration. That’s what this past Wednesday, the 21st, was all about.
BB Barns hosted its first garden tour of many-to-come. We visited North River Farms in Mills River, a Japanese/woodland garden, and an English garden. Included for the somewhat-wet, die-hard gardeners was lunch at the Highland Lake Inn. It was a day of fun and inspiration.
We will feature the gardens we visited more in depth in July, but for now, here’s a peek into the day. Below is a brief slideshow with short descriptions. Ashley Lowe, who works in our hospitality department, was our photographer. Click on each picture for a description. And, remember, we’ll be having another garden tour in September. Look for details in our newsletter.
Thank you to our gracious farm hosts: Jason Davis of North River Farms. And thank you to the gardeners who spruced up their gardens for our visit.
Thank you to Barney Bryant, part owner of BB Barns, and Therese Figura, Director of Business Development for putting the event together.
Thank you to Ben Pick for graciously sharing your wealth of horticulture knowledge as a docent. Once a BB Barns’ employee, always BB Barns’ family.
Thank you to Ashley Lowe, BB Barns hospitality department for the pictures.
Thank you Highland Lake Inn for a yummy lunch and gracious dining experience. (And good coffee after a wet morning.)
