Join Us For Our November Event: Kitchen Scrap Gardening
The B. B. Barns Sprout Squad activity and seminar club aims to provide curious and engaged children with opportunities to learn about the natural world through gardening under the guidance of the horticulture experts on staff.
NOVEMBER: Thanksgiving is right around the corner, and we have food on the brain! Join Jenna Mace, our Tropicals Buyer and Haley Martin, our Assistant Nursery Manager for this month's Sprout Squad Activity focused on reusing vegetable kitchen scraps to grow new plants. Instead of throwing away carrot tops, lettuce ends, celery bottoms, and potato eyes, start a garden with them. Kids will learn about the different vegetables that can grow from cuttings will pot up rooted cuttings to take home. Create a new tradition this Thanksgiving of limiting food waste!
